At Opintu, we strive to provide excellent service quality and customer satisfaction. This Refund and Cancellation Policy outlines the terms and conditions for cancellations, refunds, and related matters.

Please read this policy carefully before booking our services.

1. Cancellation Policy

1.1 Customer-Initiated Cancellations

Free Cancellation

You may cancel your booking without any charges if:

  • Cancellation is made more than 2 hours before the scheduled service time
  • Full refund will be processed to the original payment method
  • Refund processing time: 5-7 business days

Cancellation Within 2 Hours

If you cancel within 2 hours of scheduled service time:

  • A cancellation fee of 30% of the booking amount will be charged
  • Remaining 70% will be refunded to your original payment method
  • Refund processing time: 5-7 business days

No-Show or Last-Minute Cancellation

If you are unavailable when the professional arrives or cancel after the professional has reached your location:

  • Full booking amount will be charged
  • No refund will be provided
  • This compensates the professional for their time and travel

1.2 Opintu-Initiated Cancellations

We may cancel your booking in the following situations:

  • Service professional unavailability due to unforeseen circumstances
  • Extreme weather conditions affecting service delivery
  • Technical issues preventing service fulfillment
  • Safety concerns at the service location

In case of Opintu-initiated cancellations, you will receive a full refund within 3-5 business days.

1.3 Repeated Cancellations

To maintain service quality and fairness to professionals:

  • More than 3 cancellations in a month may result in account restrictions
  • Frequent no-shows may lead to account suspension
  • We reserve the right to limit booking privileges for repeat offenders

2. Refund Policy

2.1 Eligible Refund Scenarios

You are eligible for a full or partial refund in the following cases:

Full Refund (100%)

  • Service not provided as booked
  • Service professional did not arrive
  • Opintu-initiated cancellation
  • Duplicate payment or technical error
  • Cancellation more than 2 hours before scheduled time

Partial Refund (70%)

  • Cancellation within 2 hours of scheduled time
  • Service quality issues (case-by-case basis)
  • Incomplete service due to customer request

No Refund (0%)

  • Service completed as per booking
  • Customer unavailable at scheduled time (no-show)
  • Cancellation after professional arrival
  • Customer refused service without valid reason
  • Lack of water or basic requirements for service

2.2 Service Quality Issues

If you are unsatisfied with the service quality:

  • Report the issue within 24 hours of service completion
  • Provide photos or evidence of the issue
  • Our team will investigate and determine appropriate action
  • Resolution may include: re-service, partial refund, or service credit

2.3 Refund Processing Time

Request Submission: Immediate
Review & Approval: 1-2 business days
Refund Initiation: 2-3 business days
Credit to Account: 5-7 business days (varies by bank)

Total refund processing time: 5-10 business days from approval

3. Refund Methods

Refunds will be processed through the original payment method:

  • UPI: Instant to 24 hours
  • Credit/Debit Card: 5-7 business days
  • Digital Wallets: 2-3 business days
  • Net Banking: 5-7 business days

Refund timelines depend on your bank or payment provider's processing time.

4. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Opintu app and go to "My Bookings"
  2. Select the booking you want to cancel or report
  3. Click on "Request Refund" or "Report Issue"
  4. Select the reason for refund request
  5. Provide additional details and evidence if applicable
  6. Submit the request

You will receive a confirmation email and updates on your refund status.

5. Rescheduling Policy

Instead of canceling, you can reschedule your booking:

  • Free Rescheduling: Available up to 1 hour before scheduled time
  • How to Reschedule: Use the "Reschedule" option in the app
  • Limitations: Can reschedule up to 2 times per booking
  • Availability: Subject to professional availability

Rescheduling is a better alternative to cancellation and helps avoid cancellation fees.

6. Service Credits and Vouchers

In certain situations, we may offer service credits instead of refunds:

  • Service credits can be used for future bookings
  • Credits are valid for 6 months from the date of issue
  • Credits cannot be transferred or redeemed for cash
  • Credits will be automatically applied to your next booking

7. Special Circumstances

7.1 Weather-Related Cancellations

  • Services may be canceled due to extreme weather conditions
  • Full refund or free rescheduling will be offered
  • Customers will be notified in advance when possible

7.2 Emergency Situations

  • Medical emergencies or family emergencies are considered valid reasons
  • Contact support immediately with details
  • Cancellation fees may be waived on a case-by-case basis

7.3 Technical Issues

  • Payment failures or double charges will be refunded immediately
  • App errors leading to incorrect bookings will be resolved without charges
  • Contact support for technical issue resolution

8. Non-Refundable Items

The following are non-refundable:

  • Promotional discounts or coupon codes (these will not be refunded separately)
  • Service charges or platform fees (in case of partial refunds)
  • Completed services where quality meets standard expectations

9. Dispute Resolution

If you disagree with a refund decision:

  1. Contact our customer support team within 7 days
  2. Provide detailed explanation and supporting evidence
  3. Our team will review your case within 3-5 business days
  4. Final decision will be communicated via email

We reserve the right to modify this Refund and Cancellation Policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting in the app. Continued use of Opintu after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
